Gold imports surge to 160 tonnes in March on the price drop, duty cut

Gold imports during March have surged to 160 tonnes on the back of duty cut to 7.5 percent, a reduction in gold prices and a rise in demand in India. During 2020-21, total gold imports into the country were 632.73 tonnes, a decline of 11.87 percent compared with the previous fiscal.
